Presented by Sysco Food Services of Idaho &
featuring Chef Tyler Florence
Courtesy of the Idaho & Eastern Oregon Onion
Committee
A Chefs’ Affaire
presented by Sysco Food Services of Idaho is
designed to market the restaurants, caterers and
other participating business in the area while it
raises awareness about hunger and hunger relief in
Idaho. This event will raise funds (the goal is
$210,000) for The Idaho Foodbank – the largest
hunger relief organization in the State of Idaho –
and our Chefs to the Rescue program.
Chefs to the Rescue
is a prepared-food recovery program that operates in
partnership with several restaurants, caterers and
The Idaho Foodbank. CTTR recovers over surplus
prepared food every day to feed hungry people in the
Treasure Valley.

Roger's RemarksI
remember 10 years ago walking into the Boise Center on the Grove for
our very first A Chefs’ Affaire. My mouth fell open. I was in a room
that had been transformed into an elegant exploration of my senses.
Smells, fountains, flavors, spotlights and so much more.
In what seemed like moments later the room was alive with hundreds
of people bidding on chefs and other auction packages, savoring
every flavor, and adding their support to the goals and mission of
the Foodbank.
It is now 2008. Chef Tyler Florence, nationally known from his work
on the Food Network and his books Eat This Book, Real Kitchen and
Tyler’s Ultimate, will headline our special 10th Chef’s Affaire
anniversary.
As the Foodbank enters into a new day with A Chefs’ Affaire we are
keenly aware of Tyler’s popularity, his superb skills with an
audience and comfort in a kitchen. So, we have created an entirely
new program to help the public experience this internationally
acclaimed chef.
A cooking demonstration prior to A Chefs’ Affaire will allow the
public to see and experience Chef Florence at work. You can attend
the cooking demonstration, the feast for the senses that is A Chefs’
Affaire or both. |
